Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

This workshop is designed as an icebreaker for those who are comfortable using Google Apps and would like to take it a step further. Google Apps offers a very simple easy to access scripting tool that is built into their product. These scripts can be used to enhance workflow, or automate repetitive tasks.

Things you can do with App Script. The key word is "automation." App script will allow a teacher/integrator/administrator to automate tasks in Google Apps. For example some of the simple task that can be scripted are:

• Folder creation and sharing. So if you need many folders created and shared with specific people App Script can manage that for you.
• Email notifications. For example you can have an email sent and log it in a spreadsheet if a student sets the name of a file to "-final draft". Or have do an email merge with grades from a spreadsheet.
• Calendar events can get automatically created based on a form.

Participants need to bring a laptop. (Mac, Windows, Chromebook)
