You’ve heard the talk about Minecraft from your students. Perhaps you’ve played. Maybe you’ve attended a workshop and considered how you might use this game in the classroom. Here’s your opportunity to try out the game as a teacher. This workshop will show you the basics of Minecraft while making connections to the Common Core and your own curriculum. We will explore the server tool so you can set up your own world, and show you how to manage both the world and students using the teacher dashboard, Come, play, explore, and mine - to learn!

Participants will need to bring laptop computers. Mobile devices and netbooks will not work for this session. Mac Users will need OSX of 1.6 or higher. Java must be installed on all laptops.
Included in the workshop: MinecraftEdu Server Tool

I love games and using games in education. I have spent the last couple of years promoting MinecraftEdu as an important tool for learning and student engagement.
